At SISU Gifting, we believe checkout should be simple, secure, and free of financial gymnastics. This page explains how payments work on our website — clearly, calmly, and without mystery charges.
Accepted Payment Methods
We currently accept the following payment methods at checkout:
- Debit and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, and other major card networks)
- Instant EFT (where available)
- Any additional payment options displayed at checkout from time to time (such as PayFast, Ozow, or PayPal)
Available payment methods may vary depending on your location, device, or browser.
Secure Payment Processing
All payments on SISU Gifting are processed securely via Shopify and its approved payment partners.
- We do not store or have access to your card details
- All payment information is encrypted and handled by certified payment gateways
- We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data
In short: your card details stay between you and the payment processor. We never see them.
Currency
All prices on our website are displayed in South African Rand (ZAR) unless stated otherwise.
VAT Status
SISU Gifting is not currently VAT registered in South Africa.
- No VAT is charged or included in product prices at this time
- The price you see is the price you pay — no VAT surprises at checkout
- If VAT registration becomes applicable in the future, prices will be updated accordingly
When Payment Is Taken
Payment is taken in full at the time your order is placed.
Orders will only be processed and dispatched once payment has been successfully received and confirmed.
Failed or Reversed Payments
If a payment fails, is declined, or is reversed by your bank:
- Your order will not be processed
- You may be asked to retry payment or use an alternative payment method
- SISU Gifting is not responsible for delays caused by payment issues beyond our control
Refunds
All refunds are processed in line with our Refund & Return Policy.
Please note:
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method only
- We cannot refund to a different card, bank account, or person
- Refund processing times vary by bank and payment provider
- It may take 3–10 business days for funds to reflect in your account after a refund is issued
Fraud Prevention
To protect both our customers and our business:
- We reserve the right to screen and verify orders for fraud
- We may request additional verification for high-value or flagged orders
- We reserve the right to cancel any order we reasonably suspect to be fraudulent
We promise not to be paranoid — just sensible.
Chargebacks & Payment Disputes
If you experience any issues with your order or payment:
- Please contact us first at sam@sisugift.co.za
- We'll always try to resolve things quickly and fairly
If a chargeback or payment dispute is lodged with your bank:
- You agree to cooperate with reasonable evidence requests
- We will submit order records, delivery confirmation, and policy references
- Unjustified chargebacks may result in account restrictions or refusal of future orders
We prefer calm conversations over bank-mediated drama.
Payment Settlement
Payments are settled into SISU Gifting's business bank account with Standard Bank.
Settlement timing may vary depending on your payment method and gateway processing schedules.

We may update this Payment Methods Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date.
