International Shipping Policy

Please note: We currently ship within South Africa only. International shipping is coming soon as we expand our courier partnerships. Watch this space!
At SISU Gifting, we love the idea of our thoughtfully curated gifts travelling the world. If you're ordering from outside South Africa, here's everything you need to know — clearly, calmly, and without fine-print panic.
Where We Ship
We currently ship internationally to selected countries.
Available destinations, shipping options, and rates will be displayed at checkout.
If your country isn't listed yet, feel free to email us at [your email] — we may be able to make a plan.
Processing Times
All orders are processed within 1–3 business days, excluding weekends and public holidays.
During busy periods (hello festive season), processing times may be slightly longer — but we promise not to disappear into a packing bunker without telling you.
International Delivery Times
Delivery times vary by destination and courier service.
As a general guide:
- Africa: 5–12 business days
- Europe & UK: 7–15 business days
- USA & Canada: 7–18 business days
- Asia & Australia: 10–20 business days
These are estimates only and may be affected by customs clearance, local courier delays, weather, or global chaos of the week.
Shipping Rates
International shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on:
- Destination country
- Package weight and size
- Courier service selected
All shipping fees are displayed in ZAR unless stated otherwise.
Customs, Duties & Import Taxes (The Grown-Up Bit)
International orders may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, VAT, and handling fees imposed by your country.
Please note:
- These charges are not included in your order total
- They are the responsibility of the customer
- They must be paid directly to your local customs authority or courier
- We have no control over these fees and cannot predict their amount
In short: we send the gift. Your country decides the paperwork.
Prohibited & Restricted Items
Some products may be restricted or prohibited in certain countries (especially:
- Skincare and cosmetics
- Candles
- Liquids
- Food items
- Aerosols or alcohol-based products
It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that ordered items are permitted in their destination country.
If an order is refused, delayed, seized, or destroyed by customs:
- SISU Gifting is not responsible for the loss
- Shipping fees are non-refundable
- We cannot issue refunds for confiscated items
We'd love to argue with international customs on your behalf — but sadly, they don't take our calls.
Incomplete or Incorrect Delivery Details
Please ensure all delivery details are accurate and complete at checkout.
If a parcel is delayed, returned, or lost due to:
- Incorrect address details
- Missing contact information
- Failure to pay customs charges
- Failure to collect a parcel from a local depot
SISU Gifting cannot be held responsible, and additional shipping fees may apply for re-delivery.
Tracking
All international orders are shipped with tracking.
Once your order is dispatched, you'll receive a tracking link via email so you can:
- Watch your gift travel the globe
- Refresh the page more often than necessary
- Wonder where it is for at least one full business day
Lost or Delayed International Shipments
International shipping involves more moving parts than local delivery.
If your parcel is:
- Significantly delayed
- Stuck in customs for more than 10 business days
- Marked as delivered but not received
Please contact us at [your email] and we'll investigate with the courier.
Please note:
- We are not responsible for delays caused by customs authorities
- Our liability is limited to the replacement or refund of the product value only (excluding shipping fees)
- Refunds or replacements are subject to courier investigation outcomes
Damaged Items (International Edition)
We pack your order the way we'd pack a gift for our own mother:
- Too much bubble wrap
- Extra padding
- Careful sealing
- Zero "that'll probably be fine" energy
If your order arrives damaged:
- Notify us within 48 hours of delivery
- Email [your email] with your order number and clear photos of:
- The outer packaging
- The inner packaging
- The damaged item(s)
We'll assess the issue and arrange a replacement or refund where appropriate.
We'll also handle any courier claims behind the scenes.
Returns for International Orders
International returns are accepted in line with our Refund & Return Policy, with the following notes:
- Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer
- Original shipping fees, customs charges, and import taxes are non-refundable
- Items must be unused, in original condition, and in original packaging
- Returns may take longer to process due to international transit times
Exchange Limitations
Due to the cost and complexity of international shipping:
- We may offer refunds instead of exchanges for international orders
- Exchanges are subject to product availability and courier feasibility
Force Majeure (When the World Has Other Plans)
We are not liable for failure or delay in delivery due to events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Natural disasters
- War or political unrest
- Pandemics
- Strikes
- Border closures
- Customs system failures
- Global courier disruptions
Sometimes the universe just says "not today".
Governing Law
All international orders are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, regardless of destination country.
