Domestic Shipping Policy

At SISU Gifting, we believe delivery should be clear, calm, and free of nasty surprises. This page explains how local shipping works within South Africa — from processing times to tracking, delays, and everything in between.
Where We Deliver
We currently deliver to all major cities and towns within South Africa.
If you're unsure whether we deliver to your area, feel free to email us at sam@sisugift.co.za before placing your order.
Order Processing Times
All orders are processed within 1–3 business days, excluding:
- Weekends
- South African public holidays
- Periods when we're closed for sourcing, travel, or personal leave
- Exceptionally busy seasons (hello festive chaos)
Orders placed outside of working hours will be processed on the next business day.
Because thoughtful gifting takes a moment — and we do it properly.
Our Working Hours
SISU Gifting processes orders during the following hours:
Monday to Friday
9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (South African time)
We are closed on weekends and public holidays.
Orders can still be placed 24/7, but dispatch only happens during working hours.
Delivery Timeframes
Once your order has been dispatched, estimated delivery times are:
- Major cities: 1–3 business days
- Regional areas: 2–5 business days
- Outlying / rural areas: 3–7 business days
These are estimates only and may be affected by:
- Courier delays
- Weather conditions
- Load shedding
- Traffic chaos
- Peak season volume
We promise not to pretend none of this exists.
Shipping Rates
Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on:
- Local Delivery
- Regional Delivery
- National Delivery
All shipping fees are displayed in ZAR.
Courier Partners
We work with trusted third-party courier partners to deliver your orders safely.
Courier availability may vary depending on your location and service selected at checkout.
Tracking
All domestic orders are shipped with tracking.
Once your order has been dispatched, you'll receive:
- A shipping confirmation email
- A tracking number
- A tracking link so you can watch your parcel travel the country
You may refresh it more often than strictly necessary. We won't judge.
Delivery Attempts & Failed Deliveries
If a courier is unable to deliver your parcel due to:
- No one being available to receive it
- Incorrect or incomplete address details
- Restricted access locations
- Closed premises
The courier may attempt re-delivery or return the parcel to their depot.
Please note:
- Additional delivery fees may apply for re-delivery
- SISU Gifting cannot be held responsible for failed deliveries caused by incorrect customer information
Incorrect Delivery Details
It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that all delivery details are accurate and complete at checkout.
If a parcel is delayed, returned, or lost due to:
- Incorrect address details
- Missing contact information
- Delivery instructions not provided
SISU Gifting cannot be held responsible, and additional shipping fees may apply for re-delivery.
Damaged or Lost Parcels
We pack your order the way we'd pack a gift for our own mother:
- Too much bubble wrap
- Extra padding
- Careful sealing
- Zero "that'll probably be fine" energy
If your order arrives damaged, incomplete, or not at all:
- Please notify us within 48 hours of delivery
- Email sam@sisugift.co.za with your order number and clear photos of:
- The outer packaging
- The inner packaging
- The affected item(s)
What happens next:
- We'll assess whether the issue is courier-related or a product fault
- We'll arrange a replacement, exchange, or refund where appropriate
- We'll handle any courier or insurance claims behind the scenes
Our responsibility is limited to the replacement or refund of the affected product(s) only.
Delivery Delays
While we aim to meet all delivery time estimates, SISU Gifting is not responsible for delays caused by:
- Courier service disruptions
- Weather conditions
- Load shedding
- Traffic accidents
- National events or strikes
- Peak shopping periods
We'll always assist with reasonable follow-up where possible — and we won't pretend the courier is a teleportation device.
Signature on Delivery (If Applicable)
Some courier services may require a signature upon delivery.
If a parcel is left unattended at the delivery address at the customer's request:
- SISU Gifting cannot be held responsible for loss or theft
- Delivery will be deemed completed
Urgent & Express Deliveries
If you have an urgent order or a tight gifting deadline:
- Please email us at sam@sisugift.co.za before placing your order
- We can't promise miracles, but we'll always see what's possible
- Express shipping options (where available) will be displayed at checkout
- Additional fees may apply for express services
Weekend & Holiday Orders
Orders placed on weekends or public holidays:
- Will be processed on the next business day
- Will follow standard delivery timeframes from dispatch
Even gifts need a day off.
Force Majeure (When the World Has Other Plans)
We are not liable for failure or delay in delivery due to events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Natural disasters
- Power outages
- Strikes
- Civil unrest
- Pandemics
- Courier system failures
- Government restrictions
Sometimes the universe just says "not today".
Governing Law
This Domestic Shipping Policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
International Delivery
We’re happy to ship internationally — we’re not scared of distance, but we are cautious.
To ensure everything sails smoothly (or flies smoothly), international orders are handled directly with the purchaser. This allows us to confirm delivery details, packaging requirements, customs considerations, and courier options before shipping.
If you’re ordering from outside South Africa, please get in touch before placing your order and we’ll take it from there.
