I’ve always believed that things in life find you.
A stray cat on the windowsill that decides this is home now — and I am just allowed to live here.
A dog that sat in front of my car and wouldn’t move until I gave her a lift — home.
They weren’t planned.
They just… arrived.
And they stayed.
SISU felt a bit like that.
I had never seen or heard the word before.
And trust me, I’m a huge Viking fan — so that’s saying something.
I was scrolling, searching, going through names.
Trawling websites. Trying combinations.
Nothing really landed.
Then up popped: SISU.
Not because I asked.
Not because I was looking for Finnish names.
I’m not even Finnish.
It was just there.
SISU — and its meaning.
And it resonated.
We all have our scars.
We all have moments where we’ve had to dig a little deeper.
Carry on when stopping would be easier.
That’s SISU.
And somehow, that felt right.
Because if there’s one thing we understand here, in this beautiful country I call home, it’s resilience.
We adjust.
We adapt.
We carry on.
Same same. But better.
And that’s how the name found me.
